Your downwind run, decoded.
Your path, estimated time on foil, and speed.
The shape of your run.
Switch the illustration to see how smaller turns change the line.
Smaller turns add distance around the same broad route.
Illustrated paths. Same gates, same broad route.
- Straight line
- Direct distance between the top and bottom gates.
- Smoothed path
- The broad route, with smaller curves smoothed away.
- Full path
- Distance along the recorded GPS track, using only recorded pieces when there is a gap.
Move a gate and all run stats update for the new interval.
Wiggle is the extra in your line.
Wiggle measures the extra distance in the smaller curves.
×1.20 means 20% extra distance. Broad river bends can stay near ×1.00.
Wiggle example
- Recorded path
- 1,200 m
- Smoothed path
- 1,000 m
Example lengths after simplification.
How Wiggle is calculated
Both paths are simplified into roughly 5-metre steps to reduce GPS jitter. Wiggle divides the recorded length by the smoothed length. The displayed Full path and Smoothed path distances use more detail.
The stretches where you kept going.
- Glides
- Continuous stretches at riding speed. Brief dips are allowed; a sustained slowdown can end a glide.
- On foil
- Share of recorded time in glides, estimated from sustained GPS speed of 7 knots or more.
- Longest glide
- Your longest glide’s distance along its smoothed path.
- Elapsed time
- Time from the top gate to the bottom gate.
Gaps in the recording.
When an interval was not recorded, the time stays gate-to-gate while the map and movement facts use only the recorded pieces.
- Time
- Gate-to-gate. It still includes the unrecorded interval.
- Distance
- Recorded pieces only.
- On foil
- Measured against the recorded time, not against Time.
Speed, heart rate, and highlights.
- Fastest km
- Your quickest kilometre of track within one continuous on-foil span (a glide, on a downwind run), shown as the time it took with the average speed beneath. It appears only when one span contains a full kilometre; the Run map marks where it was.
- Max glide speed
- Highest sustained speed within a glide, using a rolling median to soften GPS spikes.
- Avg HR
- Average heart rate during the run. A note flags limited coverage.
- Shred score
- Shred points per minute of riding, for Parawing and Downwind SUP runs. A run needs a minute of riding to get a score.
- Best minute
- The most Shred points in any 60 seconds of one continuous ride. Swell and terrain still matter, so compare similar conditions or attempts on the same Course.
